2012 CHAMPIONS

CAROLINA RENEGADES

Keep a look at the Winston Salem Journal and the Winston Salem Chronicle for a recap each week of the game highlights.

2012 CCFL  CHAMPIONSHIP
The Hype leading to this game was VERY intense... The Championship would come down to the #1 Catawba Hornets against #2 Carolina Renegades.  The Hornets found a way to give the Renegades there only 2 losses for the Season and they had every ,intension that the CHAMPIONSHIP belonged to them...  The Renegades NEVER believed that and felt that if they HAD there Whole Team and played by the Team Motto; "ONLY ONE way to WIN a Championship, and that is What?  TOGETHER!!!
That is EXACTLY what the Renegades did...  After MANY hours of watching film of the previous matchups and having a better understanding and knowing what the NEW game plan needed to BE.
The Intensity WAS strong even before the game as players exchanged words in the middle of the field...  The RENEGADES NEVER forgot how the Hornets celebrated after the 2 season wins, like they had already won the SHIP... So as WE watched them have there pregame fireworks, smoke, and introduce the players, they did not realize it was fueling our FIRE...
The Renegades would take the Opening Kickoff to mid-field and setup the Offense.
LET ME setup the BEST way to START a Championship.
The O-Line was challenged to ATTACK and continue to move their feet.
Play Call  I Right Tight. Tight End Slide 33 ISO..  The Tight Slides across, the ball is snapped and the Lineman BLOW the defense off the Ball.  Tight End #33 A-Train makes Big block Blowing the Outside LB out, and #11 Fullback Ricky Summers Leads the #34 Tailback Mike Davis to the Hole... As #34 steps into the hole He sees a gap open up and turns on the jets up the middle for a 47 yd TD...
1st play of game and Renegades Score...  The Hornets where stunned as COLD WEATHER and the RENEGADES due to Hornets.  The Renegades Defense then Stepped up and Destroyed the Hornets giving up only 20yds to the hornets in the 1st half.  The Defense was being led by a host of Vets..  #0 Lamonte Stephens, #93 Kelvin "DUKE" Jones, #8 Jnard Young, #43 Travis King, #32 "BUS" Newman, #99 "TIGER" Jacobs, and a host of other key defense players..
HALFTIME SCORE 19-0
The game was in total control by the Renegades and was due to the OUTSTANDING job of #7 Evan Selman Kicker/Punter.  #7 Evan continued to come up Big on Field position and Field Goals and finished the game with 12pts.  The Renegades where Rolling over the Hornets and with less than 3 minutes to go in the Ball game and most of the starters out the Hornets did get on the Board, but a little TO LATE.
FINAL SCORE 35-8
OFFENSE MVP:  #7 Evan Selman Kicker
DEFENSE MVP:  #32 Marques "BUS" Newman

CAROLINA RENEGADES
2012 CCFL CHAMPIONS

PLAYOFFS
The Renegades finshed in 2nd place and established Home Field for the 1st and 2nd rounds.  The first round the Rengades played host to #7 Rowan Rampage and handled business with NO PROBLEM...  The Renegades would advance to the 2nd round semi-finals against the #3 Irredell Warriors.  The Renegades jumped on the Warriors fast and early.  The game was never in contention until late in the 4th quarter when Renegades turned the ball over and warriors capitalized.  But the Renegades buckled down and focused to sustain a 34-32 WIN to advance to the CCFL CHAMPIONSHIP.

FINAL Regular Season GAME
The Renegades face the Catawba Hornets for 1st place and Complete Home Field Advantage in Playoffs.  We travelled to Newton NC and DID NOT show up prepared.  It showed from the First Play as we where sacked in the Endzone for a Safety..  It All went down Hill from there.  Losing to them 30-16...

RENEGADES on the ROAD
The Renegades will finish the regular season with back to back Road games...  The First stop would be in Salisbury NC to take on the Rowan Rampage.  The dominance continued as we ROLLED the Rampage.  KEY highlights:  #7 Evan Selman Kicker had a 50yd FG. And #83 Andrew "Cowboy Lamar" Tuttle scored his first points of Football Career on a 2pt convertion.

RENEGADES CONTINUE TO WIN
The Warriors came into the Renegades house and quickly felt the Strength of the RENEGADES..  With a Total BLOWout going into the 3rd quarter the game was delayed, due to lightning.  After a 30 min. delay the game was called...

BACK AT HOME..
This Saturday Sept. 22nd will be the last Regular season Home Game.  The Carolina Renegades will play the Irredell Warriors 7pm at Atkins High School.

THE Renegades Suffer First Lose
The Renegades suffer there first lost Last Saturday night against the Cawtaba Hornets.  The stung the renegades early in the first half putting up 12 points. But the Renegades would march down the field led by QB Josh Resignolo to put 6 points on the board before halftime.  The Renegades Defense stepped up and kept the Hornets away from the endzone the whole second half.  After a punt return TD by #20 Fonz was called back for off-sides, the offense took the field with QB Herb Miller to take them down the field.  After a couple big completions the Renegades found themselves 3rd and goal from the 3 yard line.  A Pass to #3 Quan in the back of the Endzone for a TD was waived Off . On a controverse Call the Renegades where stopped by the Hornets.

Renegades Put Another "W" in the       WIN column
The Renegades travelled to eastern Randolph High school in Ramseur NC to take on the Carolina Heat.. This would turn out to BE a game that would end out of control.  But in the End the Renegades would dominate on Both sides of the Ball and prevail to a victory 23-7.

Renegades Struggle but WIN
The Renegades struggled to get any flow.  The Defense gave up the most yards and points in the last 15 games but the persistant efforts of the Defense and Offense propelled the to a 22-18 WIN over the Stanly County Panthers.

The Renegades WIN
The Renegades defeated the Rowan Rampage 44-0 in the First Home game...  They have picked up the Offense who seemed to have great success.  #2 Ray Ray Montford lead the way with 2 touchdowns receiving.

Carolina Renegades vs Carolina Stallons (Rocky Mount)
Renegades Struggle but WIN Renegades Struggle but WIN2012 CCFL Season
The Renegades travelled across the state to take on the Rocky Mount Stallions For their Annual Rocky Mount Day for the Community.  It was a very Hot Day, as kickoff started at 5pm. The Renegades took the opening kickoff back to mid-field and wasted NO time 6 plays to Open the game 8-0.  As the game progressed the Renegades defense shut the Stallions down on every field position, as the Renegades offense continued to find ways to score.

FINAL Score:  Carolina Renegades 40 - Stallions 0

After I (Coach G had a very difficult surgery and have been struggling through recoverery my Team provided me with a Early Season Football Gift. It was a Battle that has been brewing for several years and FINALLY came to head this past Saturday night in Winston-Salem NC...
These 2 teams have been Strong competitors in there leagues, The High Point Ravens are members of the AFL (Alliance Football League) they finished the 2011 season as the NAC Champions and lost in the Alliance Bowl.)
As for the Carolina Renegades members of the CCFL (Central Carolina Football League) they also had an explosive season finishing 14-2 overall and 1 game short of the Championship... Many of the Carolina Renegades have had some National attention recently for the QB #10 Jeremiah Marable and #28 RB Al Washington as this year’s Offensive MVP’s of the 2012 National Football Events All-Star game Casino Bowl.
These teams are only separated by 30 miles on the map, and many of the players grew up with each other and even played with and against each other in school. So BRAGGING rights as to WHO is the Best in the TRIAD of North Carolina where at stake.
The game lived up to the hype, and the Carolina Renegades showed there power and strength straight from the start by lining up in a Wishbone Offense and immediately putting a 13-0 lead on the board early… But the Ravens regrouped and before Halftime was able to tie the game 13-13… The Second half belonged to the Renegades with the Power of the offense and the steller performances of the Defense they again added 13 more points for a total Score 26-13 in favor of the Carolina Renegades as the Triad Bowl Champions.
