Renegades 53 - BlueJays 0
That was a great way to end the regular season and get ready for the Playoffs...  Offense had a slow start with  13 points in the 1st half.  #7 QB Jermaine Pitts threw 4 td's and #1 TB Jed Bines had a successful night with 147 yds rushing.  Other outstanding offensive players was #5 WR James Glenn with 2 td's and #22 WR Brent "Cal" Brown with 2
td's.  Now on the Defensive side IT WAS OFF THE CHAIN....
The defense was led by #3 Corner Vic Callahan who had several key tackles and "another" interception returned for a TD...  That gave Vic 11 interceptions for the season and 4 returned for td's.  The pressure was continuously applied by #11 LB Earl "EB" Barnes and that massive D-line.  To all of the Defense GREAT JOB...

NOW...
ONLY one WAY to WIN a CHAMPIONSHIP and that is WHAT??

The Renegades have their FIRST loss on the 11th against the Catawba Hornets, watch for the FULL story.  Photo's added below!  Say Kudos to our Daughter Taylor, she took the Majority of the photo's since I haven't been on the field, I picked up at the end of the game and shot a couple dozen or so!

Hornets hand Carolina Renegades first loss of the season

An outstanding Hornet’s passing attack and turnovers by the Renegades helped visiting Catawba defeat the Carolina Renegades semi-pro football team 28-12 Saturday afternoon at Walkertown Middle School.
“They did a superb job with their passing game. They exposed us defensively with their passing and we have some areas we need to work on in our defensive coverage. They
probably had more than 300 or more yards passing. Their quarterback was very composed. He did a three-step drop and just let it go,” said Renegades head coach Dale Glossenger. “Offensively we just turned the ball over too much. We turned it over in the red zone three times and we had two touchdowns called back for penalties where we were just not thinking. You can’t make mistakes and win against a competitive team.”
Catawba scored one rushing and one passing touchdown in the first half to take a 12-0 lead Saturday.
The Hornets stretched the lead to 20-0 with a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage in the second half and a successful extra point attempt.
“They ran a short 10-yard out and our corner went to intercept the ball. The receiver ran 75 yards for a touchdown,” Glossenger said.
The Renegades’ Jed Bines capped off their first touchdown drive with a 12-yard run to cut the lead to 20-6.
Catawba returned an interception for a touchdown and made the two-point conversion to push the lead to 28-6 with 10
minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Some completed passes to James Glenn and Brent Brown set up a five-yard touchdown run by Al Washington on the Renegades’ next possession. The two-point conversion failed. Glenn finished the game with 95 yards receiving and Brown had 60 yards receiving
The Renegades got the ball back with an interception in the final minute of the game. Brown caught a 40-yard pass, but time expired before the Renegades could run another play.
Lamonte Stephens-Conrad had an outstanding game for the
Renegades at middle linebacker.
“He had a lot of tackles and he shut the run game down. He made them go to a passing game. They could not run on us,” Glossenger said.
Saturday’s loss was the first of the season for the Renegades (3-1) but will not hurt their playoff hopes. The Renegades will host the Carolina Blue Jays (Statesville) this Saturday at 5 p.m. at Walkertown Middle School. This will be the Homecoming Game for the Renegades.
“All in all it was a good loss. It was a nonleague game and it forces us to regroup. It does not hurt us from a league standpoint. We finally played a competitive team and they exposed our weaknesses. So we will work on our pass coverage this week in practice and get ready for Saturday,” Glossenger said. “Statesville lost their last games 17-15 and 12-6. We better pay attention or we could easily let another game slip by us.”

The offense had some changes from week one with tailback Al Washington sidelined with a tweaked hamstring.. But Winston Salem State University standout Jed Bines is ready for the calling... Jed turned in 176 yds. on 20 carries and 2 TD's...  But the backfield would continue to have that 1, 2, punch with newcomer "PETE" at Fullback who also turned in an impressive 82 yds. and 2 TD's...  The Rengades Quarterback Robert Barham did a fine job leading the offense with 10 of 17 completions for 115 yds. passing and a 2pt. pass completion and a rushing TD...
